Alasia Franco Vivai, thanks to the close collaboration with the partners of its group, has
been the first company in Italy to have activated a real agroenergetic chain starting from
the dedicated cultivation of wood biomass.
Actually, since 1998 we have worked closely with the main protagonists of the sector: the
independent farmers, the industrial entrepreneurs and those belonging to the transformation
world, representing a real point of reference for anyone who operates in the Short Rotation
Forestry sector.

The main Alasia Franco Vivai’s lines of competence are the fast growing species genetic and
the plant material production used for establishing the short-rotation plantations.
Furthermore, through the Franco Alasia’s partnership with Biomasse Europa (Padova – Italy),
specific planter and harvester machineries have been developed. This activity leaded to 13
harvesting sites in Europe.
Today Alasia Franco Vivai is, with no doubt, the main European Company in the production of
plant material for energetic woody crops and its SRF poplar clones represent 98% of those
planted in Europe.
